So Toast is superior in every way on the programming of gaps. You can also set it to no-gap and there is NOT even the little hiccup that iTunes included when it ignored gaps. It allows the gap setting to a far wider range of values, but you can also customize the gap on a track-by-track basis. Toast Titanium 11 has rescued this for me. Apple has ignored the complaints registered in its support area for those years. I used to use iTunes to burn the CDs, but starting two or so versions back, iTunes has had a bug in it that ignores the setting of gaps between the tracks on the audio CD. On the Mac, I use Sound Studio to clip out the introductions, applause, dead-air, etc. I record the concert track with a Zoom H2 Handy recorder.
